Let Us Reason Together
There’s a reason for our reason But it’s not to stymie faith Doubt is tantamount to treason When it lingers like a wraith
In the background of our being There’s great need for something more Where believing leads to seeing Wondrous things God has in store
For we know faith is true substance Firmer than all things we touch Hope and love are other constants That we need to value much
Faith is more than evidential It’s the fuel that feeds our fire Pathway to the providential Actions must exceed desire
By faith Enoch was translated When he chose to walk with God Now he’s highly elevated With no tombstone marking sod
By faith Moses chose to suffer Rather than to walk in sin Faith at times might make life tougher But it brings real peace within
Mountain moving is God’s business Though faith’s small as mustard seed Standing on His Word we’ll witness Miracles that supersede
Greater things than these shall ye do Reason hears the Master say Faith’s response will bring a breakthrough Harden not your hearts today

About the Poet
Born in Anacortes WA USA on 11/24/1944.
Raised mostly in Nyasaland(now Malawi) by missionary parents. Married to Carol, an Australian, who is the mother of our four children. After Seattle Pacific University and graduate studies at Princeton Theological Seminary and marriage, spent over two decades in missionary work mostly in Zimbabwe. Currently in Anacortes, but for 12 years did a regular program on www.swradioafrica.com where I sometimes shared poetry which I have been writing, off and on, since 1962. God's faithfulness is from everlasting to everlasting.
