Changing Seasons

Tall weeds and blackberry vines
obscure the little stream chirping
with a yellow voice, like the sun
on a rainy day. The feet of water
pitter patter along the bank barely noticed
by the cool breeze skipping leaves
off the surface. I follow the sounds
through the woods until I see many
colors of music. The reds of summer flutter
away, startled by my sudden appearance.
