Saturday Dawn

white, yellow torches dot the city
fingernail moon hangs above
pine, palm shadows
aise their heads in worship
daystar climbing the eastern edge
a new day

coffee, cinnamon cake
elements for early
morning communion
eat the cake
drink from the cup
remember

sunrise tree-singers
offer concerts
rock, opera, jazz, symphony
celebrating you, Father
a new day
a new dance

Surprise up with love at daybreak;
then we'll skip and dance all day long.
—Psalm 90:14 (Msg)

(c) 2012 Charles R. Brown

WORTH REPEATING

Open you heart up to the King of Glory.
Ask Him, in your own words, to show you
where to look for that glory in your daily life.
—Ethel Herr
