WINDOW SEAT By Martha T. Robinson
I hear God’s call to go, to serve in a place
where I’ve never been. But, Lord, I’m afraid.
I’ll fly first, by myself.
Take a step of faith, child. As I have cared for you here, surely I will watch over you there.
Buoyed by trust in Him, fear falls away.
A sunrise flight, a window seat,
Just me and my God, Side by side in pink clouds.
Patchwork green earth, tiny buildings,
thread-like highways, ant-sized cars.
Golden rays flash from chrome to mirror,
flicker from pond to pool. God is winking at me.
