Where Only Reason Rules...
Where only reason rules there is no power Humility is left far down the road And longing hearts stay desert-dry but fooled Believing they are drawing nearer God
Religion with her microscopic eye Disects...bisects...'till under reason's blade The beauty and the power of Sharon's Rose Of necessity must dissipate and fade
To itching ears the faith-less priests present A clinically correct exegesis Where facts replace the Holy Spirit's power Lord save us from this surrogate nemesis |

About the Poet
My hope is that through the poems I write God will be glorified.
I am reliant on the Holy Spirit for anything meaningful to say.
I am 71 years of age, married with three of a family...a retired Policeman living in Aberdeen, Scotland.
I play the Classical Guitar about grade4/5 level...and also paint after a fashion...although Van Gogh's in no danger!!
I learned of this site from a Christian friend,Laurie Jenkins.
I do hope that God blesses you through my poetry.
Every Blessing in Christ,
Raymond
