GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

(Jesus said) 12"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."  - Matthew 7:12(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

19For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him (Jesus), 20and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.  - Colossians 1:19-20(New Living Translation).

NOTES

Today has been a sunny day with high temperatures around 40 degrees.  I attended church this morning.  The church worship summary will be in a later paragraph.  While I was at church, my daughter, Treva, made a big pot of chili.  About 1:00 p.m. my son, Ron and wife, Angie, my grandson, Chris with my great-grandchildren, Jaimie, Jon and Nick arrived to share the chili.  By 5:00 p.m., everyone had gone home except Treva, so Rascal and I took a nap.  Treva is still with me.

The cats are fine.  They are still very concerned that a dog is closed up in one of the bedrooms.  At present, Emmy, Happy and Smokey are asleep here in the study with me.

A summary of the Worship Service:

Pastor Doug Vernier gave a welcome and announcements and then everyone was allowed to greet one another with hand shakes and hugs.  The Praise and Worship in Song was led by Donitta Gee with Doug Gulley on the piano and Carol Hockett on the organ.  Congregational songs were "How Firm a Foundation", "I've Anchored In Jesus" and "Living For Jesus."   The prayer song was "Father I Adore You."   Pastor Doug led in prayer.  While the offerings and tithe were being taken the muscians played "My Wonderful Lord" on the piano and organ.  A music special was sung by Donitta Gee and her two small grand-sons.  Pastor Doug's sermon was titled "Staying Power" with Scripture from 2 Corinthians 4:1-18.  After the sermon the congregation sang "Higher Ground."  Pastor Doug then dismissed the congregation with prayer.

At 9:30 p.m. skies are clear with a temperature of 31 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In sincere Christian Love, Everett.
