GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said to His disciples) “I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. 3 You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. 5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing." - John 15:1-5(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said to His disciples) 12 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. 13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. 14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!" - John 14:12-14(New Living Translation).

NOTES
Today has been a cloudy day in Moore, Oklahoma, with high temperatures in the mid forties. I attended church this morning. I will give a summary of our Worship Service in a separate paragraph. The reason I give a summary of our Worship Service is because some people like to hear about it and also it might encourage someone to attend church who is not now attending. Attend the church denomination of your choice as long as they stay true to and obey the Word of God, the Bible. I attend Southpointe Church of The Nazarene. My daughter, Treva, was visiting in my home until 2:00 p.m. today. She left for her home in Topeka, Kansas. I just heard from her and she made it home safely and it is snowing in Topeka. My son, Ron, and wife, Angie, also visited this afternoon. They went home about 2:25 p.m. shortly after Treva left. Ron and wife live in Oklahoma City. I would like to welcome a new couple to the Good Things, Gilbert and Carol Hockett. They attend the church that I attend.
The cats are fine. For those who don't know, I have nine cats. My cats have been such a comfort to me since my dear wife, Flonnie, went to be with the Lord on February 24, 2008. She and I and our three kids have loved cats and also dogs every since Flonnie and I were married. Flonnie and I were married for 61 years and 9 months and I have been missing her so much recently and I long to go join her as soon as the Lord is ready for me to come to our Eternal Home. I tell Flonnie every night that I will join her when the Lord is ready for me to come home. Until then I will take care of the cats. When I can no longer care for the cats my children will see that they are taken care of. Each cat has a different personality and each one loves me. If you ever get tired of hearing about me write about my dear wife, Flonnie, and my cats, you can always delete my e-mails or tell me to drop you from the e-mail list.
Here is the summary of our Worship Service this morning:
Our Worship Service opened with the congregation singing "Come Into His Presence." Gilbert Hockett leads the singing with Doug Gulley on the piano and Carol Hockett on the organ. Pastor Doug Vernier gave the Welcome and Announcements. The Praise and Worship songs sung this morning were "Oh Come All You Faithful", "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore You", "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks" and "Away In A Manager." The prayer chorus was titled "Holy Ground." Pastor Doug led in prayer. While the offering was being taken the musicains played "Go Tell It On The Mountain". A special song was sung by Donna Gee titled "I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day." Pastor Doug's message was titled "Nevertheless" with Scripture from Isaiah 9:1-6. After the message two more songs were sung titled "His Name Is Wonderful" and "Oh Come Let Us Adore Him." The Altar was open for seekers during the songs but no one went to the Altar.
At 7:45 p.m. skies are cloudy with a temperature of 43 degrees. My cat named Beau is asleep in my computer chair. I will see you next time.
In sincere Christian Love, Everett.
