Good Things

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:

15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind if criminal, or even as a meddler. 16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. - 1 Peter 4:15-16(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:

(The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus) 17 "I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. - Ephesians 1:17(New International Version).

A QUOTE:

We are God's idea. We are His... Look deeply into the face of every human being on earth and you will see His likeness. - Max Lucado -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:

Christians are ordinary people who are committed to the extraordinary person of Christ. - From Our Daily Bread -

It really isn't a smile until you aim it at someone. - From Reminisce Magazine -

We are not here to see through each other but to see each other through. - From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES:

Today has been a cloudy day with a high temperature of 48 degrees. I am feeling better today so I had lunch with Charley at Taco Bob's. I then went to the post office and then home. I had a long nap with Beau and Emmy. I think Rascal, Smokey and Tony were on the bed at different times. As I said, I am getting a little better every day. I had so many nice emails wanting me to continue with the Good Things if I could that I just have to continue them as long as I feel like doing them. I would like to share all the nice notes that I received but that is not possible. I will share one at the end of the Good Things. I have had a lot of time just to think during the past four days and I think the Lord has been speaking to me. I have been complaining too much about my age and my situation in life and feeling sorry for myself. I will do better from now own. The Lord has left me here for a reason and maybe the Good Things are a part of that reason. I love everyone and I don't have an enemy as far as I am concerned. If I am anyone's enemy I am sorry that I did or said something that caused it. If anyone reading this tonight has anything against me I ask your forgiveness and I will do all within my power to make things right. I will share a note later from one of my former pastor's who helped me a lot when I was just getting started in the Church of The Nazarene.

The cats are fine. Each one has their own way of showing their love to me and they do it in different ways. They trust me with their lives to do everything in my power to love them and protect them. One or two of the cats has a problem with Beau and chases him when they get a chance. Beau knows that when he is in bed with me that I will protect him.

Have a nice Wednesday.

Everett.

As always I will leave you with a dear lady's quote who is now in heaven: "Keep Thinking The Good Thoughts!!!"

Here is the note from Rev. Tom Gilham, a former pastor:

Dear friend, I was in the hospital because I fell and broke some ribs and my Humerous arm bone. Then I was in Physical Therapy for a month. I am sorry you don't feel well. I will be 90 on 5/11/14 but i want you to know how much the GOOD THINGS mean to me. It keeps me in touch . Thank you so much ,but i understand about the good things and how much you put in them. I would miss them immensely.. Slow down a bit. and take care of yourself.

Thanks a lot. TOM GILHAM. an OLD Friend.
