Good Things

by Everett Chrsitian, McAlester, OK

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
15 Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things! - Psalm 118:15(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. - Hebrews 11:6(New International Version).

A QUOTE
It is a sad thing to reflect that in a world so overflowing with goodness of smell, of fine sights and sweet sounds, we pass by hastily and take so little note of them. - David Grayson -
,br /> THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
If you have knowledge, let others light their candles at it. - From Leaves of Gold -
Keep clear of a person who does not value their own character. - From Leaves of Gold -
Try to live your life like the words of praise that will undoubtedly be spoken at your funeral. - Everett Christian -
NOTES
Today has been partly cloudy in McAlester, Oklahoma, after thunderstorms during the night. High temperature today was 63 degrees with a low temperature of 46 degrees. I attended church this morning. We had a wonderful service with hymns and songs of praise. Pastor J. T. preached an inspiring sermon titled "Service - Connected." I will leave one of the songs that was sung this morning at the end of the Good Things. I had lunch at home. I sat outside with the cats a little while before I took my afternoon nap. I put treats and food outside for the cats at 4:30 p.m. Since the last Good Things, I have heard from Burlene, Alice and Audie (my cousin). Thanks for your e-mails. The song I will leave tonight is "Because He Lives." I may have left it before but it is worth repeating. Sing it if you know the melody.
The cats are fine. Rascal is asleep in the recliner. Emmy and Tony were here a few minutes ago. I have seen all the cats this evening.
Have a wonderful Monday to start the week!.
Until next time May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You. Everett

Here is the song:
Because He Lives
- Bill Gaither -
God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus; He came to love, heal and forgive; He lived and died to buy my pardon, An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!
Chorus Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, Because He lives, all fear is gone; Because I know He holds the future, And life is worth the living, Just because He lives!
How sweet to hold a newborn baby, And feel the pride and joy he gives; But greater still the calm assurance: This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!
And then one day, I'll cross the river, I'll fight life's final war with pain; And then, as death gives way to vict'ry, I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!
