Good Things

by Everett Christian

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
68 You (O Lord) are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees. - Psalm 119:68(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
. 5 Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. - Psalm 36:5(New International Version).

A QUOTE
If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain: If I can ease one life the aching, or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain. - Emily Dickinson - ( 1830-1886 )

A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER
Broken friendship may be soldered, but may not be sound. - From Proverbs for Daily Living -

CAT POETRY
Baggage (The Meaning of Rescue)
By Evelyn Colbath(c)1995 Baggage All rights reserved
Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed, All nicely tucked in my warm new bed, I'd like to open my baggage, Lest I forget, There is so much to carry, So much to regret.

Hmmm...Yes, there it is, right on the top, Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss, And there by my perch hides Fear and Shame. As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave, I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain. I loved them, the others, the ones who left me, But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.

Will you add to my baggage? Will you help me unpack? Or will you just look at my things, And take me right back? Do you have the time to help me unpack? To put away my baggage, to never repack? I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see, But I do come with baggage, Will you still want me?

,br /> NOTES
Today has been a cloudy day. Around noontime a cold front blew in. The temperature at noon time was 74 degrees but has dropped down to 42 degrees at present. We had a little rain in early afternoon but didn't get enough to measure at my house. I saw Charley and Bill at noon. I went to the post office and then by Braum's for a carton of ice cream. I took a nap this afternoon . When I awoke Leo (a cat) was on the bed with me. It was too cool to sit out with the cats this evening but I did take treats our for them at around 5:30 p.m. I worked in my office room some this afternoon before I took my nap and again this evening before I did the Good Things. Since last night's Good Things, I have heard from Michelle and Geneva. Thanks for your e-mails. Thanks to everyone who reads the Good Things.
The cats are fine. I have seen all of them this evening. At present Rascal is in the recliner. When the weather gets cold the cats stay inside a lot.
I hope everyone has a nice Friday!
I will see you next time,
In Christian Love, Everett.
