NOTES
Today has been a sunny hot day in McAlester, Oklahoma, with a high temperature of 100 degrees and a low temperature of 61 degrees. At 10:00 a.m. I went to a funeral for Eldred Moore, age 89, a member of the church where Charley attends. I have known Eldred for 49 years. He went to Heaven to meet his wife whom he lost seven years ago. He will also meet his mother and father, Mr. & Mrs. I. E. Moore (some of you will remember them) who attended the church that I attend until they went to be with the Lord. I had lunch by myself today since Charley's church was preparing a meal for the family of Eldred Moore.
I took my nap in early afternoon. When I awoke, Smokey was in bed with me. At about 4:15 p.m. I had to make my weekly trip to the Petsense store and Walmart to pick up my weekly supply of cat food and human food for me. I bought gasoline at Walmart at $3.15 per gallon. At 6:15 p.m. I put treats outside for the cats but couldn't sit out due to the heat. Lucy the stray came while I was feeding the cats and she was quite hungry. It was the first time she had appeared today. I don't know why I keep calling her a stray because she comes every day for food but she usually doesn't stay too long. I will send three pictures tonight. I do appreciate your e-mails.
The cats are fine. None are with me at present but Leo was here just a few minutes ago. I sometimes wonder if in my writing about my cats if I have caused anyone to have a greater love and understanding of pets.
