Denominations

We see church numbers slip and slide

As chapels close their gate

While through denominational pride

We choose to segregate

Yet God’s resolved to make us one

Devoid of sin and shame

Uniting in His Lamb, His Son

In Jesus’ holy name

We say the other church is wrong

Our doctrine’s rich and fair

But is it not the devil’s song?

When love we fail to share

The church, to free herself of rot

Must stop her selfish fight

Must be aware of Satan’s plot

Must now in Christ unite

We need to think before we speak

Question what leaders tell

Not make the bride feel sick and weak

Decreeing tales from hell

Christ’s church today should understand

Such things to lay aside

That each within The Lord God’s hand

Is chosen as His bride

We need to love with all our heart

Until the church is whole

Not with one’s mouth tear Christ apart

Condemning thus our soul

When one; combined in Heaven’s sight

When hand in hand we sing

We’ll walk and live in brilliant Light

Beneath our Saviour’s wing.....
