GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
46 They (the believers) worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. - Acts 2:46-47(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(The Lord says) 13 "I will teach all your children,
and they will enjoy great peace."
- Isaiah 54:46-47(New Living Translation).
A QUOTE
Authentic faith is marked by a compassionate response toward those the world tends to forget, whether these persons are poor, imprisoned, disabled, sick or mentally challenged. - Gary L. Thomas -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Grandchildren certainly brighten up the home. They never turn off the lights.
When Rembrandt painted the Crucifixion, among the faces in the crowd the great artist painted himself, knowing he was a part of the divine drama of the ages. - From Reflecting God -

NOTES
I have felt much better today. My lips are almost back to normal. The red rash bumps are all gone. We have had quite a lot of rain today but has not been raining for two or three hours. If you had rather not read about my dear wife, Flonnie, let me know and I will drop you from the Good Things because I might write about her at any time such as what I am going to tell you tonight. I miss Flonnie more than I did the first few months that she died because at that time I was having lots of back pains and my mind was mostly on getting rid of my pain. Of course I thought about her quite often and cried but now I think about her most of the time and I cry a lot. The Scripture from Matthew 22:30 bothered me. It says: "At the resurrection people will neither marry or be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven." In Gensis 3:24 it says: "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." The Apostle Paul quoted this scripture in 1 Corinthians and Ephesians. When I married Flonnie I considered that we were one and were a part of each other. I have prayed to God about Flonnie every night. About a month ago I was sitting in the back yard reading as I do most every evening. A young lady came walking down the street with hair down to her shoulder and a beautiful light green pant suit on with some kind of shoes that matched perfectly. As she walked along she looked at the cats and then looked at me and we waved to each other and I said "hello". I didn't want to stare at her so I didn't look to see which way she went. Her hair was the same color as Flonnie's before her hair turned gray. Her hair looked the same as Flonnie wore her hair when we got married. That night I got to thinking that could have been Flonne. The more I think about it the more I am convinced that it was Flonnie. You don't usually dress up in a pretty green pant suit with new shoes to go out walking. You can think what you want but I believe with all my heart that was Flonnie indicating that she was waiting for me. The Bible says in the King James version: "In my Father's house are many mansions." In the New International version it says: "In my Fathers house are many rooms." I think when I get to Heaven that I will ask God to give Flonnie and me a mansion or room together. If that can't be done then I will ask Him to give us mansions or rooms next to each other. I expect all of our animals that have died to be near us. Of course I will be happy to see Mama, Papa, brothers, sisters, a great grandchild, other relatives and friends but Flonnie was the love of my life for 61 years and 9 months. I hope I have'nt bored you tonight but if you want to be dropped from the Good Things just let me know.
The cats are fine. Little Girl on the couch and Rascal coming in to check on me occasionally.
At 10:20 p.m. we are having light rain again with a temperature of 73 degrees. I will see you next time.

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." - Revelation 21:1-4(New Living Translation).
A PROMISE FROM GOD
1 Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor!
The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble.
2 The Lord protects them
and keeps them alive.
He gives them prosperity in the land
and rescues them from their enemies.
- Psalm 41:1-2(New Living Translation).

Be careful where you go, our feet can take us in good directions and lousy directions.

NOTES
I didn't feel good for part of the day. In fact I had Charley take me to the Emergency Room at the hospital about 9:00 a.m. For the past several days I have been having big red bumps appear on my skin and then disappear in a little while. This started last Saturday and has gradually gotten worse. This morning as I was eating breakfast it felt as if there was something bad wrong with my left jaw. I got up and looked in the mirror and the left side of my face had a knot on it as big as my hand and as wide as my fist. The eyelid of one of my eyes was very red. Large red bumps were all over my body and legs. I decided it was time to have it checked out so I called Charley to take me to the emergency room. My urologist, Dr. McClintock, had prescribed some antibotic pills for me about two weeks ago. I had taken them all except one. The lady doctor at the hospital, Dr K. Siren, checked me over and concluded that the antibiotic pills had an allergic reaction to my body. She had me take about seven pills at the hospital and gave me three prescriptions. One of them was for predizone. I came home and went to bed. I slept for about an hour and a half. I woke up and looked in the mirror and the knot on my face was almost gone but my lips were about three times their natural size. I should have taken my picture. My lips are getting smaller now and I think they will probably be back to normal by morning. Dr. Siren told me to see my regular doctor on friday. As I said I am feeling much better tonight.
The cats are fine doing their usual cat things. Little Girl is on the couch. Rascal comes in occasionally to check on me.
At 11:20 p.m. skies are mostly cloudy with a temperature of 78 degrees. We had heavy rain today around noontime. I will see you next time.

Think America! Tomorrow is Independence Day here in the USA! What does that mean for YOU! How dependent are you on the State? How free do you feel? How dependent are you on God? What is at stake?
What is freedom? In your national life? In your social life? In your personal life?
Our government in attempting to give us more security may have taken away so much of our independence that we would not survive without the government "handouts"?? Think of the pioneers: those who came over here from across the seas and colonized this nation! Think of those who traversed this land to settle it without a government guarantee of anything! Think of the hardship, sacrifice, but also shear determination and sense of freedom and independence! That gave them.
In our desire for security have we given our government too much power and control over us? What will it mean to our children and grandchildren and future generations?
To change the focus: What does freedom in Christ mean? How are you free in Him? What does freedom and dependence on God have in common? And what does that mean for your relationship with the State?

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
3 God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin.
- 1 Thessalonians 4:3(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
11 Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. 12 But our High Priest (Jesus) offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 13 There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet. 14 For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy. - Hebrews 10:11-14(New Living Translation).

NOTES
Today has been partly cloudy with high temperatures in the mid eighties. At 3:00 p.m. I had an appointment with my urologist. After the examination he said I would not need to see him again for six months which will be in January, 2011. This evening I sat with the cats in the back yard. I read for an hour and a half and then just sat and relaxed for a few minutes. I came in at 9:00 p.m. as it was beginning to get dark. From tomorrow (Friday) until Monday, I will have my three chrldren visiting so if you don't see the Good Things you will know why.
The cats are fine. None of them are in the den with me at present.
At 10:40 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 79 degrees. I will see you next time.

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
10 "For the mountains may move
and the hills disappear,
but even then my faithful love for you will remain.
My covenant of blessing will never be broken,”
says the Lord, who has mercy on you.
- Isaiah 54:10(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. - 2 Peter 1:5-9(New International Version).
A QUOTE
Christ alone can bring lasting peace - peace with God - peace among men and nations - and peace within our hearts.
- Billy Graham -
A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER
You are who you choose to be.

NOTES
Today has been partly cloudy with high temperatures in the high eighties. A normal day for me, lunch, post office Walgreens and then back home for the rest of the day. I sat outside with the cats this evening for about two hours. I was reading part of the time and just sitting and enjoying the things around me the rest of the time. I see lots of birds but they usually keep out of the way of the cats.
The cats are fine, doing their usual things. Rascal just came in and got on the desk here beside me.
At 10:50 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 77 degrees. I will see you next time.
