The Chimes of Young David
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

(Inspired by Psalms 142 and 143)

Songs and prayers were offered by young David,
When he was hiding from King Saul in a dark cave.
Set me free from my prison, my Lord and Saviour,
In faith believing did young master David pray.

These chimes of young David were musically played,
In a time of great discouragement and desparate need.
Hear my cry for mercy on this life threatening day,
Save my life, said young David, let my heart be set free!

O my Lord, and compassionate Father above,
Come to my relief, young David boldly prayed.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
And my spirit renew and my fears quickly allay.

In our times of great stress and urgent needs,
We must do as young master David did hiding in the cave.
Play our chimes of grace, hope and faith-seeds,
Trusting in the Lord to ever show us, His safe way.
