Standing On Freedom
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

As a ship sails the sea at night,
To find its way back to safe harbor;
The light of the Lighthouse on the shore
Must shine ever so BOLDLY and BRIGHT!

As a ship sails through dense fog,
Or tries to ride out a storm;
The light of the Lighthouse on the shore
Must shine ever so BOLDLY and BRIGHT!

As America, the old Red, White and Blue,
Seeks to sail again -- after 9/11/2001;
The light of the Lighthouse
Standing on Freedom's Shore,
Must shine ever so BOLDLY and BRIGHT!

For Patriot dream undimmed by 9/11 tears,
We are in danger of losing the liberty,
Which we cherish and hold in our hearts so dear.
As we navigate these early 21st Century waters --
Plead with the Lighthouse,
Standing on Freedom's Shore,
To continue to shine ever more BOLDLY AND BRIGHT!

As America sails in the old Red, White and Blue
Through this stormy, terror-filled endless night;
Pray that the light of each Patriot's heart -
Will energize the light of the Lighthouse,
Standing on Freedom's Shore,
To forever shine even more BRIGHTER
Than she has ever done so before!
