The Star Is Still There!
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

On the roof of the Church of The Nativity,
The cherished Star of Bethlehem stands.
Quietly watching the fierce battle going on,
In the most holiest of all lands.

Two thousand years ago, on a journey
Through untold days of cloudless nights.
A group of visitors made their way
To the birth of the Christ-child,
Traveling in the brightness,
Of this Star's most glowing light.

Today, as the bloody battle rages on,
Through numerous days, and countless nights.
The Star of Bethlehem on the church's roof,
In holy and sacred Manger Square,
Refuses to give forth its most holy light!

The Star of Bethlehem is more than a symbol
Of a miracle birth in days gone by.
It is the reality of a living God,
Whose light will shine,
On the path of every believer,
Christian, Arab, or Jew,
Far brighter than a sun-filled sky!
