Living YOUR History

"Living History" is the title
Of a former first lady's new book;
She is inviting each of us,
To reevaluate her life with
A more detailed and significant look.
As a former first lady and now a U.S. Senator,
She does deserve much honor and respect;
Yet, to worship her living history --
Might be asking far more of us
Than she should think, imagine or expect.

We all have our own living history,
Whether we live in the White House,
Or off of Main Street; To Celebrate
The life of others, and not our own
Is to sell our soul for a price far too cheap.
Living your history may not write you
A "New York Times" best selling book;
Yet, it is your history, it is your life,
And no matter its blessings or trials,
It does deserve a more thoughtful look.

So, my friend, with much dignity and grace,
Live out YOUR history -- Rediscover
The higher calling of your God-created soul;
Cherish and celebrate your life everyday,
And you might find its value is far greater
Than all the world's oil, silver or gold.
