The Resurrection of a Broken Heart

The Resurrection of a Broken Heart

Our hearts are often broken
in many different and various ways;
Simply because -- our answers to prayer,
experience unforeseen providential delays.

As a physical heart that is damaged,
does not beat or function very well;
Likewise, will function a broken heart
when a sad story it is forced to tell.

On Eagles wings Christains are told
to mount up and toward heaven fly;
Yet, the broken heart often just limps along,
with its dreaded fears and mournful cries.

Tis the season of Easter, a time
of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead;
Easter is such a gifted time of mending
for the broken heart as it is raised
from the dying act of waiting
for God to do just what His Word says.

Our hearts are often broken,
Our Lord's mercy makes them whole again!
In the power of His resurrection,
Easter Grace resurrects the broken heart
so that a new life of wholeness
can miraculously begin.
