The Day God Cried

The Day God Cried

America and Israel,
traveling companions in space;
Both are miracles of God's
longreaching arm of redeeming grace.
Israel, came out of bondage from Egypt,
through the wilderness
to a milk and honey flowing promised land;
America, came out of bondage to England,
through the wilderness of Europe,
to a new world led by God's own hand.

America and Israel traveling together in space
at eighteen times the speed of sound;
God, the creator of both
began to feel in His chest,
His heart beginning to rapidly pound!
Providentially knowing
what was about to take place;
God walked behind His throne,
and began to wipe away
the flowing tears from His anguished face.

America and Israel,
the twin loves
of God's own soul;
Do you two not understand
that the fiery shuttle debris
raining down from heaven --
were hot tears on the face of your God
that the two of you, have left alone
in a long night of frigid cold.
