The State Of Our Union

State Of Our Union

The State of Our Union is strong,
Our President said last night;
If this is so, it is because our God
Has put America's enemies to a hasty flight!
God bless America,
Republicans and Democrats said alike;
Can our God do so, when this nation's
Greatest event is an old football game,
Played on our Lord's holy sabbath night.

The state of our Union is not really strong,
In reality it is uncertain, vulnerable and weak;
For the God who must bless America --
Too many American's, hardly ever worship or seek.***
For the State of Our Union to be truly strong,
We must worship the God in whom we trust;
This well known command and ancient challenge,
Is no longer an option, but an undeniable must!

Author's note:
***According to recent research, less than 40% of
America's adult population attends church each Sunday,
and the average Christian reads less than a chapter
of the Bible per month, and prays less than 10 minutes
each day.
