Every Year's Epilogue
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

The last week of the year,
Is every year's epilogue;
It may be one of laughter or tears,
Yet, it is like approaching the homestretch,
of an afternoon jog.

Memories of the good,
Regrets of the bad;
Thoughts of the shoulds,
Miracles of the year that made the heart glad.

Yesterday is gone,
Today's sun will soon set;
A new year will soon dawn,
As the potter begins our tomorrows to create.

Every year's epilogue
Is the last week of each year;
Meditate on its mysterious saga,
Then, embrace the new year with three cheers!
