The Birth of a Poem

The Birth of a Poem

The creation of words and thoughts into a poem,
Can be an awesome and sometime tiring work of art.
A baby is born from its mother's womb,
A poem comes forth from the poet's own heart.

Simple words in rhyme and in time,
Often seem like hard labor pains -
That come to a woman who is about to give birth,
Come rain or come shine.

The birth of a newborn child,
Is an unforgettable sight to behold.
The birth of a poem for the poet,
Is like finding a lost treasure of pure gold.

The birth of a baby is a life-changing experience,
For all in the family to enjoy and share.
The birth of a poem is like all in the family,
Overhearing the poet's most heart-felt prayer.
